Spending Ban and Project Pan!

Isn't it cool how that rhymed?!

(above images - just some of my stash)

Today's post will be reflecting on my proposed resolution to control the inner hoarder in me.
I'm someone who cannot deny myself of purchasing from a good sale or rejecting a cheeky offer.
Additionally, I'm very intrigued by the newest releases in beauty.
My makeup/skincare/haircare hoarding has even came to the attention of my own mother.
"Wow, I don't think you'll finish all that" she says.
Financially, I'm heading nowhere, if I don't stop and start saving.
I've also begun to run out of space to store more makeup.
That is why, I've chosen to adhere to a spending ban and participate in Project Pan.
It's time for an intervention. "No more spending on makeup" my best friend says. But did I listen? No. Unfortunately, I'm a horrible friend in that aspect.

I'm also trying to refrain from opening up emails celebrating sales and specials.

To make it short and sweet, I'll try not to spend on makeup, skincare and haircare products unless it's essential items that needs to be replenished. Makeup has a higher priority to be finished up on my list, so I'm aiming to hit pan/finish up 10 products from this category. I'm not too bothered by the amount of skincare and haircare products; this ban is mostly focusing on my exponentially increasing makeup collection.

Starting off 2014 with a clean start. A wiser start too.

Despite not 'hauling' much from this time onwards I'll still be showcasing reviews and past hauls I've sneaked in!
I'll keep you posted on my empties. The spending ban/Project Pan will commence now and end at the beginning of April 2014.

Stay beautiful everyone!

  3. Aaah, I'm trying to stop spending too, but I have HUGE collective haul to post at the end of the month. It's the sales that get me! I too am running out of space in my storage. I would do project pan too but I don't think I would actually finish anything (I've only ever hit pan on a concealer and face powder!).

    1. I haven't posted up any of my recent hauls yet... (guilty!) because there's quite a few and I just haven't had the time to compose one properly. I think I have this FOMO (fear of missing out) imbedded in me, I just can't say no to a sale! I haven't done Project Pan before so I'm quite curious to see how much products I can actually hit pan on! Looking forward to your haul post!

  5. Good luck with the spending ban! I would never be able to do it- I'll be too tempted with sales :P I actually don't think I've ever finished a makeup product before (the only thing I can think of is mascara!) It'll be great for saving money and using up the products you already have though :D

  7. Wow! You have quite a collection! Lip products are definitely our weak spot, but because there are two of us, we can hold each other back...sometimes!
